A New Direction for
Feminist Therapist
Case Conceptualization
Introducing The Feminist Therapist Compass, an integrative framework for applying feminist therapy principles to how we understand clients and ourselves
What is the Compass and Why Do We Need It?

We need feminist therapists now more than ever. In a world where individual struggles are often separated from the social, cultural, and political contexts that shape them, feminist therapy offers a different way of understanding the people we serve.
But knowing feminist theory and applying it to clinical practice are two different things. The Feminist Therapist Compass offers a practical starting point for clinicians who want to begin thinking through a feminist lens. By guiding therapists to notice power, explore intersectionality, situate the story, and work toward agency, the Compass helps us look beyond symptoms and consider the fuller contexts of our clients’ lives.
